Starbucks has arrived in the world of Metaverse

Starbucks has entered this race, with Starbucks Odyessy, launching later this year. The company now joins other retail brands like Nike, Gucci, McDonald's, and Wendy’s in Metaverse.

Metaverse and NFTs are the ‘next big thing’ for the financial world. Starbucks has entered this race, with Starbucks Odyessy, launching later this year. The company now joins other retail brands like Nike, Gucci, McDonald's, and Wendy’s in Metaverse.


A reward program like no other.


Starbucks is aiming to introduce a different game. Loyalty 2.0 will allow the members and the employees to trade, buy and deal with digital collectibles/NFTs. They are taking loyalty programs at scale which means with every star you earn from purchase can be converted into a digital asset.


Serving as a Third Place in the digital world.


Starbucks has always claimed itself to be the third place, a place between work and home. They want to extend this warmth, connection, and love of coffee with their digital community. Customers are going to get a different Web3 experience where they can see digital, physical, and experiential benefits made just for them.


An Immersive Experience


Odyssey members could be a part of interactive coffee theme journeys that could give them a stamp NFT. There would be challenges to deepen the players' coffee and brand knowledge. Interestingly Starbucks Odyessy would not require you to have a crypto wallet. However, you can buy stamps through credit cards and earn rewards.


It is far too early to say how Starbucks' journey in Web3 would turn out. Nike has done something similar with Nikeworld in partnership with Rolex when it comes o buying NFTs. Web3 buzz is not dying anytime soon.


Is it all a new marketing gimmick? Or an attempt to earn a few extra dollars? Well, let us wait and see.
